Cold Leather Seats

This is a song about trying to improve yourself and fix things with the people around you. It also how we all have regrets and need to confront our past mistakes to really understand and grow from them, aiming for a better future.

Apart from the band's upbeat energy, the music of this song is a combination of sleek arrangement, tight-knit instrumental and a lot of emotions. Every instrument is in sync with each other but it also has its own space and prominence.

Starting with the music, Alex Svoboda’s strumming acoustic guitar leads the chord progression and Isaac Frisbie’s bass provides a deep, rich tone that fills out the low end.

On top of the upbeat rhythm from Drew Poehl’s thumping drums and delicate percussion, Sejeon Karrip’s classic guitars add a clean tone with a touch of tremolo, some twang, and even a bit of palm muting, panned out near the edges of the mix.

Dominating the strings with its expressive and animated sound is John Robey's fiddle. Plus, the charming piano in the background brings even more energy and a nice touch of variety.

Finally, the bright, sincere vocals and harmonies of Alex Svoboda and Elizabeth Ostoin bring everything together, both musically and emotionally. The lyrics are just as thought-provoking as this wonderful composition.

The song ends with a message of owning up to the past and looking ahead with hope. It represents the one who asks for forgiveness and promises to do better. The one who admits to having a tough time and needing support but has chosen to find a better path.
